Free pieced rose blocks

On the blog called Sophie Junction I found the tutorial for these free pieced Rose blocks.

I love how these roses can even be made in blue.  Can only imagine a rather funky quilt resulting from these.  To see the full tutorial, click HERE.

New Beginnings Outreach Project

As most of you already know our guild is getting involved in an outreach program called New Beginnings and would appreciate any help they can get.

One of the many facets of New Beginnings is visiting homes and taking care of the pets – a good bath, dip, food and then the request to guild members…… make a couple of dog coats.

The pattern for a doggie coat can be found by clicking HERE and it would be appreciated if you could whip one up (fabric of your choice) and get it to your group leader BEFORE 3 November 2013.

Then there is also a request for:

5 l water bottles (full or empty) to wash and rinse the dogs
2 l ice cream containers – to use in the soup kitchen

The guild also needs to collect and pack sweets for the little ones.  If you can help with sweets (200 of a kind) let your group leader know and those wanting to help with the packing can do so by being at the CUT at 09:00 on 30 October 2013.

Wishing all in the dry Free State a wonderful wet weekend.

The 1 Hour Apron

I don’t know if women still wear these.  I don’t but have to admit that I've damaged a couple of good outfits in the process.  So maybe this post should be for me.

Cheryl Lynch Quilts shared how to make this apron in just one hour.  Take a look at how she does it over HERE.
