Outreach projects 2022

 Our members have been working on a few projects for the year thus far.

First project for the year was pencil pouches for our local CVO kindergarten class.

We also knitted neck warmers and beanies for the Lerato Kindergarten School.

Non perishable products are collected during every general meeting and given to institutions caring for the needy.  We are also continuing to knit for premature babies and recently added the octopi toys which help in keeping them calm.

Dog beds made with scraps was donated to the local SPCA.

We will be donating knitted teddy bears to Life Rose Park Hospital at the end of the year.

Bloem Show winners 2022

The annual Bloem Show returned after an absence of two years due to the Covid 19 pandemic and was held from the 27th of April to the 7th of May 2022.  As usual there were lots of beautiful quilts on display.

National Quilting Day

Our Guild celebrated National Quilting Day on the 26th of March with a stitching day for our members during which s super fast herringbone pattern was shown to the attendees.

Travelling Exhibition

The Travelling Exhibition was hosted at Oliewenhuis Art Gallery, Bloemfontein from 7 April to the 22nd of May 2022.

The theme was "Hands Up Collection" and featured quilts made with our quilt teachers hand prints on it.

The opening of the exhibition was held on the 7th of April 2022 and was attended by members of our Guild.

Quilts from different teachers was on display as well.
