Spike Border
I think most of us are just so grateful when we finally get
to finish a quilt top that we tend to neglect the border. Another lovely tutorial found on the blog of
Molly Flanders is just the thing to spice the final step of your quilt top up.
Read her step-by-step tutorial for this spike border over HERE.

The 1 Hour Apron
I don’t know if women still wear
these. I don’t but have to admit that
I've damaged a couple of good outfits in the process. So maybe this post should be for me.
Cheryl Lynch Quilts shared how to make this apron in just one hour. Take a look at how she does it over HERE.

Do take the time and look how he takes traditional quilt
blocks stretch, shrink or distort them somewhat, play around with color to get

Free Fat Quarter Quilt Patterns
The other day I was searching through my stash for navy
fabrics, which I didn't have much off I might add, when I realized I had heaps
of fat quarters several years old. What
to do with these?
Well it turns out Craftsy has posted a couple of tutorials
on making quilts from fat quarters on their site. Should really spend time thoroughly working
through these.
If you have just as many fat quarters, go check their post
out over HERE.

Simple Six-Pocket bag
The site of Better Homes and Gardens is one of my favorites to read
while sipping on a glass of ice cold wine at the end of the day before DH gets
home – just a little ‘me’ time and I always find something to read or worse
the…. “I want to make that someday” feeling.
Yesterday was one of those late afternoons and I found this
lovely 6-pocket (the more the merrier) bag I thought I’d share with you.
To see how to make this, click HERE and do spend some time
on the rest of the site – you’ll find almost everything from health to pets and
I’m sure you too will enjoy it.

Calypso Squares Lap Quilt
The Quilters Magazine has a couple of free patterns to download in PDF format over HERE.
The quilt that caught my eye this morning while I browsed their site, was this Calypso Squares Quilt.
Scroll down on their online project page until you find it. I have to say these are extremely neatly set out patterns in PDF format.

Petunia Strings quilt tutorial
I follow several blogs but occasionally one stands out and not necessarily because of the heaps of tutorials but somehow, even over a massive distance, I click with the person on the other side. One such a person is Connie from the blog Quilting by the River.
Connie recently shared this tutorial and I thought I'd share it with you.
To see how it is done, go to her tutorial over HERE.

SWAK block tutorial
Many moons ago Iessie (currently the coordinator of our 17th National Quilt Festival) was our group leader and to thank her for all her patience with us, we made her a quilt using Sealed with a Kiss blocks. Each of us then bought a small gift and placed these inside the blocks before giving it to her.
It therefore brought back good memories when I found this tutorial shared on The Dread Pirate's blog over HERE.

Scrappy Irish Chain Quilt Tutorial
I am so glad I stumbled upon Rachel's blog, Scrapendipity Designs, for if I didn't I would not have found this lovely tutorial for a Scrappy Irish Chain Quilt. I think we all have plenty of scraps from which we can choose to make this.
Now go take a look at the way this tutorial was written and you have to agree, it couldn't have been made easier. Find the tutorial over HERE.
