3rd General Meeting - 4: Kwiltedoor

After the meeting, it was time for the next round of Kwiltedoor.  The brief for this round was Innovative with applique done across all 3 blocks in the allocated 3 hours.

The remaining 6 groups again in no particular order:

Quiltmakers:  Sonia van Zyl (middle), Nici Smit (front) and Margaret Jordaan (back).

Rotary Cutters:  Magda du Plessis, Marietjie van Rensburg and Rika van der Merwe.
(from left to right)

Sterre:  Gerda Cronje-Vermeulen, Marietjie Thomas and Petro van der Merwe

Langenhovenparkies:  Lulu Koster, Ritha Swanepoel and Flolinda Marais.

Stukkies:  Johanna Engelbrecht, Anne-Marie Wessels and Charlotte Naudé.

Gouedrade:  Petro van der Merwe,  Louisa Basson and Rientjie du Plessis.
Marianne le Roux kicked of round 2 and laid down the rules (again with fabric sponsored by Jacksons)

Each group received instructions to stitch 3 of these blocks

and then it was serious planning and stitching time.

The participants weren't allowed any meandering on their blocks, so some serious quilting was done,

with Nici preferring to do the quilting on the backside of the blocks.

With minutes to spare the blocks were squared

and presented for judging.

Following the trend set in Round One, more exotic prizes were handed out.

As one of the groups, the Uile, withdrawn from the competition, nobody was send home this round.

The next round of Kwiltedoor to take place on the 9th of November 2019.
