A few of the ladies of the Oranje Quilters guild celebrated National Quilt Day under the guidance of local teacher, Iessie Steenberg.

Iessie demonstrated how to make an armchair needlework station which incorporated the unique flower block the South African Quilters Guild commissioned in celebration of the day. The versatile block was inspired by the South African flag.

Departing home, each had a beautiful and practical item as well as precious memories of a fun day.
