All the party goers were treated with yummy sweet treats beautifully displayed.
Members and guests were welcomed with a lollipop.
Our chairperson, Mariëtte Venter welcomed everyone after which Petro Swart opened the meeting.
As May is a special month for mothers, it was decided by our committee to treat our only mother-and-daughter quilters, Christine and daughter Calista Von Wielligh each with a wooden box packed with goodies.

The Outreach project for this term was The Christian Seaman's Organization which aims is to bring the Good News of God's Love to each person involved in maritime life. Our quilters were hard at work knitting 260 beanies as well as scarves and gloves for them for the cold winter weather ahead and adding notebooks, pens and Christian messages to their packages.
The "Sterkwilters" group who knitted the most beanies, received a bottle of alcohol free champagne while members who knitted 10 or more beanies each received a thank you gift from Mariëtte.

Petro Swart and Sonia van Zyl hosted an interesting lecture about French quilting and the art of Trapunto Quilting. Both of them are judges at the "VLV Sirkel" and is/was lecturers at the University of the Free State.
