Spring Stitch Day

Although we normally celebrate spring in September, nothing was as usual this year as everybody experienced world wide. With our normal venue also not available, we were lucky to be able to use a school hall for our last meeting of the year held on the 7th on November.  Members and guests were invited, vendors were arranged as well as a log cabin block class under the watchful eye of teacher Iessie Steenberg.

Elsa de Wet and Wilna Geel greeted everybody and made sure that everybody wore their masks and sanitize before entering the venue.

Liefie Love was one of the vendors coming all the way from Mpumalanga.

Our chair person, Nelia Venter welcomed everybody and started the day off with an inspiring message.

The last outreach project for the year was also concluded with teddy bears knitted by our members handed over to Rosepark hospital for distribution to patients unfortunate to be in hospital over the festive period.

Juliana Christo of Life Rosepark Hospital accepted the bears

And then it was time for Iessie's class with everybody using all those left over fabrics.

Serious stitching time started by putting heads together

with some very proud ladies showing off there finished blocks.

As always there was a few quilters who just came to visit and shop.

During teatime everybody was treated with tea or coffee with a little bite to eat and everybody received a chicken wrap for lunchtime.

Another successful meeting with which to conclude 2020.
