Lockdown Art Quilts 2020

Teacher Iessie Steenberg was busy teaching art quilts when Covid 19 and the lockdown struck.  But with technology at our disposal, the classes proceed via cellphones.  As you will see below from the photo's the beautiful collection of quilts made, 10 per person each using different elements, principles and techniques.

The collection was displayed at Oliewenhuis, a local art gallery during May and June with opening night the 22nd of May.  All attendees showed dutifully up wearing their masks, sanitizing at the door as well as having temperatures taken.

The first collection of Annelize Keeve displayed all 9 small quilts on the 10th bigger background.

And below the stars of the show, the quilts.

All attendees was thoroughly surprised at the beautiful art work made by ordinary quilters, not big names or prize winners, showing that any quilter can create such extraordinary pieces.
