Meet Frances van Schalkwyk, candidate quilt judge

Frances van Schalkwyk

Frances, a professor and the director of the Art School at the CUT is currently doing a course to become a quilt judge.  This is a tedious process stretching over 2 years with 4 existing judges as tutors each giving her 6 assignments to complete.  These covered every single aspect of every quilt technique.  She will complete this course with a practical judge exam at the Stellenbosch National Festival in July 2011.
